We welcomed our volunteers to the Heritage Centre in early July. It was an opportunity to say thank you for all the work they do for us. We served homemade scones, jam and whipped cream … not a crumb was left. Jenny and Val led the entertainment and here we are dressed up as two dinnerladies, complete with aprons and curly grey hair! We talked about the challenges of old age and performed some poems, including “I wish I’d looked after me teeth” by Pam Ayres. Here is Peter Johnson, recently retired volunteer, who read “My satnav” which is all about the person sat next to you in the car when you go on journeys! A lovely, funny, warm afternoon enjoyed by everyone.
