What a wonderful evening! A full church of 80 guests and exceptionally beautiful music performed by David, who amongst other accolades was Principal Harpist with the London Philarmonic Orchestra. His programme was varied, he performed pieces of ancient music, along with Debussy, Liszt, folk songs and three of his own compositions. David demonstrated the beauty of the harp and how it stands alone as a solo instrument. Some of David’s young pupils attended the recital. We were also entertained by some of David’s stories of people he has met along the path of his career, for example Rudolf Nureyev and Princess Grace. A truly memorable evening at Fewston Church and the Heritage Centre. [Photo courtesy of Rodney Towers ]
