Clare Granger meets Leonora Cohen at the Preview!

Our new programme “More than a woman” launched last week to a packed audience of members, friends and distinguished guests at the Heritage Centre.  Val Hurst, programme leader, talked about the exciting events in the programme which include a range of walks, talks, suppers, visits, workshops and more.  She went on to welcome Mrs Clare Granger, the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire who gave an entertaining and informative talk about her year in office, a little bit of her background and her pride at being appointed as High Sheriff.  The Centre shares its Charity of the Year with Clare: IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services).

Clare was delighted to meet Leonora Cohen, the Leeds Suffragette, who is our impressive mannequin in the lobby … the two of them looked marvellous as they posed for a photograph … just a hundred years or so between them!  For more information about events in this programme, please check out the Events tab on the Home page of this website.
