In September we said goodbye to our friend and fellow volunteer Philip Herbert who, after many years of service to the Heritage Centre, hung up his fleece and warden badge. We are very proud that Philip was a part of the team here.
Philip was a heritage warden when we first opened, he did the training, wore the tee shirt (and his badge!) and was an active supporter of the Centre. He and his wife Sheila came to many events and will remain as active members which is great news. Philip was very good at promoting the Centre to other people and we have a lot to thank him for.
He said “I would like to place on record how much l have enjoyed my ten plus years of volunteering at the Centre-meeting many visitors and generally helping to ‘keep the show on the road come rain or shine!”
Enjoy putting your feet up Philip but come back and see us soon … the Tea Room always offers a good cup of tea and excellent cake! We will miss you.
