The exhibition running from November 2014 to April 2015 was based on the excavation of Fewston churchyard before the Washburn Heritage Centre was built. It explains what the archaeologists found and what research was being done at the universities of Durham and York. Some well known valley families have been researched and their stories revealed. A later exhibition in 2016-17 displayed more about the research of the remains and the history of individuals and there’s more on the dedicated Churchyard Secrets page.
More of the information produced for this and other exhibitions is held in our Archive. Access is available to all through the Centre office. Read more on the Archive page. . .
