Nick Jocelyn who founded the White House Distillery in Otley will tell us about the history of gin.  A 1751 etching, Gin Lane, by William Hogarth depicts the desperate situation of a woman in a London street, but by the end of that century the gin craze was over.  Gin became popular again in war time.  Coming right up to date, enjoy Nick’s story of how he became a gin distiller in his hometown.  There will be a sample of White House gin and an opportunity start your Christmas shopping!  Cost £8 member, £10 non-member.
